Here are our top 3 things to do on your holiday!
K, it’s not a surprise we said surfing - it is Lahinch after all. But aside from this being a fun thing for any age, any skill level - it’s also a way of resetting your mind and can be done with social distancing - woop! You’ll have no choice but to forget any worries you have for an hour, while you press reset on your mind and get in some giggles along the way. It’s guaranteed to make you feel good! And best of all - not only is it amazing to do on the sunny days - but it’s the best thing to do on those wet drizzly days. Who could notice the rain on their face when they’re catching waves?
The Burren is only a short drive from Lahinch, and it – is – magic! Depending on your interest, you can take a lovely scenic hike or you can completely nerd out and learn about the amazing biodiversity and history. Hikes in the burren range from short walks to full day treks, so the choice is yours. Added bonus - if you want to see another side of the burren, check out caving with the Burren Education Centre.
Most people do the Cliffs of Moher wrong – there, we said it! Don’t cheat yourself by only going to the visitor centre. While that’s a lovely experience - it’s only a piece of the pie. We recommend planning a full day (or 2 half days) to see the cliffs. The visitor’s centre alone can take up to 1-2 hours, and is a lovely spot to break for lunch in the middle of the hike from Hags Head to Doolin. These giants are spectacular from all angles, and the 13km trail is well worth your time. Whether you’re coming down with your friends or family - getting outside and spending time together is how memories are made – and our top recommendation to shake that cabin fever!
